Anthony Daniels is C3PO

Anthony Daniels is a man who needs no introduction to Star Wars fans. Being the only actor to appear in all nine films of the Skywalker Saga, as the golden protocol droid C3PO. Meaning that in four of those films he worked with Harrison Ford as Han Solo; Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens.

We’d Never Met

As you may be aware as a follower of this project, over the years I have met the majority of the original Star Wars cast. But strangely I had not yet met Anthony. He had appeared at Comic Con Scotland from the same organisers as FTLOSF a few weeks before. Since I was unable to attend, I had my friend Mark C pass him a letter, expressing my wishes to interview him for Finding Ford.

For The Love of Sci-Fi

It has become a bit of an annual event for me this. Indeed, just before the pandemic in 2019, it became the second shoot that Steve and I did for the documentary. So I must endeavour to write a blog entry for this, as we went to quiz Danny Glover on Witness.

This time it was the perfect opportunity to speak to Mr Daniels, touch base with Mads Mikkelsen (fresh from Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), and Julian Glover.

At The Table

I had the perfect image I wanted Anthony to sign (see below), which had been sat in my vaults for a while. So it was a good excuse to get it done, and chat about the potential interview. It was great to finally meet him, and handing him a Finding Ford post card reminded him of my letter. Anthony then kindly agreed to let us ask him a question during his Q&A Panel in the afternoon.
